In every generation there is a Chosen One.

One girl in all the World.

She alone will stand against the vampires, the demons, and the forces of darkness. 

She is the Slayer.

This information researched by John Humphlett (some added by myself later) and presented at the Tampa Buffy Vulkon 2003.  these Slayers were taken from the Books, Graphic novels, Comics and the show.

7,000 BC            

  The Primitive Slayer  

-Created by shamans calling themselves the Shadowmen by giving a young girl demon enhanced abilities. - "Restless", "Intervention","Get it Done"

1530 BC "Nubian Goddess"

Lived with the Pharoah and was worshipped as a Goddess. - Tales of the Slayers (Novel), Vol. 2, "The Ghosts of Slayers Past"

490 BC                 

Thessily Thessilonikki  – Ancient Greece

-Slayer of Ancient Greece for 7 years.  Helped defend Athens from a massive vampire attack.  Died from a poison arrow after setting 7 vampire filled galleys on fire.  - Tales of the Slayer, Volume 1

23 AD

Diana – Rome

-Killed by her best friend Helen, who had inadvertently revealed diana identity to her enemies, but was herself capured instead.  Helen is sired after becoming a gladiator champion..  - The Evil That Men Do

562 AD Garnhuld -

-Solved a puzzle involving imps the fastest before Buffy did it. - The Remaining Sunlight trade paper back

980 AD                  

Kishi Minomoto – Japan

-She was taken to the Imperial Palace by her Watcher to discover the source of some mysterious deaths.  Her Watcher was revealed to be a vampire. She slays him and remains at the palace.- Tales of the Slayer, Volume 2

11th Century                

Unnamed Slayer

– Killed by Lothos. - The Movie

Adja – Gothic France

-Sent through time to stop the demon Karfarnaum from killing Buffy Summers in the 21st century.  Her name means “One who is already dead”.  - Buffy the Vampire Slayer #27: "The Heart of a Slayer Part II" (Nov 29, 1999)

                       

The Maiden in White

-A righteous and devout Slayer she saved her walled town from St Just and his vampire minions.   She was accused of witchcraft and was burned at the stake. Tales of the Slayer Vol. 1 "Righteous"

1072 Mary O'Brien - Ireland

- Killed by Lothos - "The Origin"

1073 Lady Sarah - Austria

-a Lady of high Nobility - "The Origin"

1320                       

Elaine Ward / du Shaunde – Beauport, Brittany

-A Slayer who falls in love with her Watcher, they get married and have two children.  The Council finds out and takes her husband away, which causes Elaine to refuse to slay unless her husband is returned to her.   The town is overrun with vampires, which kill and turn her son.   Elaine burns down the down, dying in the process.  Her surviving daughter is returned to her husband. - Tales of the Slayer 2

before 1527 Cassia Marsilka - Greece

-Her family was slaughtered by vampires right before she was called. She fought with ferocity the forces of darkness.   She was no match for Cyrus and allowed herself to be sired rather than die. - Tempted Champions

before 1539 Maria Regina - France

-Sold out to a sorcerer when she fell in love with his agent.  Her blood restored his body to youth again.-The Gatekeeper Trilogy

1590                             

White Doe (Virginia Dare) – Roanoke

-Roanoke colony was attacked and destroyed by Vampires.  Adopted by the Native Americans of the region.  Served for 10 years until turned into a White Doe by a jealous admirer. - Tales of the Slayer

17th Century               

 Yuki Makumura

-Called to go up against the Master.   All other  records on her have been “lost”. -  Buffy the Vampire Slayer #35: "False Memories Part 1" (July 25, 2001)

Erin Randall - Ireland

- Defeated Samhien once, but on the second try could not slay him. - Halloween Rain

                   

Ildiko’ Gelle’rt – Hungary 1609

-A gypsy Slayer who went undercover as a serving girl in Countess Bathory’s estate.  Killed by Bathory, yet Ildiko’ never did discover whether or not the Countess was a Vampire. - Tales of the Slayer

1629 Shagrat al-Durr - Jerusalem

Destroyed while trying to rescue a french night by a Monster called the Gatherer. - "The Book Of Fours"

                               

Robyn Whitby – 1661, the Caribbean

-A Slayer Pirate, she dressed as a man to avoid detection.  She was captain of her own ship and sailed the Caribbean, engaging in piracy while slaying vampires and demons. Tales of the Slayer Vol 2 "Blood and Brine"

                               

Carissa Avenhaus – 1670

-A Dutch Slayer. Not much more is known about other than she was called at a very young age. Tales of the Slayers, Vol 2, "The Ghosts of Slayers Past"

                               

Samantha Caine – 1690 Salem

-She combated the real witch problem, especially a witch named Sarah Dinsdale who was practiced in necromancy.  - Night of the Living Rerun  (BtVS book 4)

18th Century                

Jin Po - Hong Kong 1732

-a prostitute who was also a slayer - "The Origin"

Marie-Christine duLac – France 1789

-Marie was the personal bodyguard of Marie Antoinette.  She was sent to the slums of Paris for allowing a vampire into the Palace, she then hunted down the Vampire Lord L’Hero.  She returned to the palace to find it overrun by revolutionaries and to witness her Watcher being executed. - Tales of the Slayer volume 1

                               

Claudine – France

-Slayer during the height of the French Revolution.  She was of the Bourgeoisie as was her Watcher.  Tricked by her Watcher into killing a human aristocrat - Tales of the Slayer volume 1

                               

Naaye’e’.neizghani

-Native American of an unknown tribe.  Name means Monster Hunter.  Destroyed a nest of great evil, that laid on some California land that later became known as Sunnydale.Tales of the Slayer Volume 1

19th Century              

Edward (Elizabeth) Weston – 1813 England

-Slayer that posed as a nobleman to lure vampires into a false sense of security.- Tales of the Slayer volume 1

Grace - Yorkshire Moors, England

-Killed by a Vampire named Helen who ran with angelus for a time.- The Evil that Men Do

Unnamed Slave - Virginia

Mentioned by Merrick while trying to convince Buffy of her new calling.  - The Movie

Marie Siegner - France - 1840

Tales of the Slayers (Novel), Vol. 2, "The Ghosts of Slayers Past"

Catherine Hogarth – London 1843

-Not much is known about this Slayer other than she was a lower-class citizen of London’s Westend.  Tales of the Slayers (Novel), Vol. 2, "The Ghosts of Slayers Past"            

Unnamed – Boston 1845

-Boston shipyards plagued by gruesome murders, attacks end when a quiet woman arrives in town."Welcome to the Hellmouth"

                               

Lucy Hanover – 1860s

-Slayer during the Civil war.  A few years later the Wild Hunt took her.  She had to give part of her soul to create her soul to create her son, Roland, with the Erl King, which allowed her to return to the mortal world and pretend that nothing had happened.  Lucy was killed by the Wanderer of Water and continues to guide spirits to their path on the Ghost Roads.  - "The Book Of Fours" by Nancy Holder; BtVS, Comics, "The Blood of Carthage"; and many other incarnations. 

                               

Frankie Massey – Atlanta 1864

- Slayer during the Civil War.  Sherman burning his way to the Atlantic was actually her torching vampire nests.  Posed as a man. - Tales of the Slayers (Novel), Vol. 2, "The New Watcher"

                              

  Mollie Prater – Kentucky 1886

-A backwoods country girl, Mollie defends her area against ‘haints and goblins.- Tales of the Slayer volume 1

Naayeeneizghani - California- 1891

Native American who killed the Vampire who slew her watcher.-Tales of the Slayers (Comic)

                               

Angelique – London 1897

-A Slayer that had a close circle of friends, and a Watcher named Van Helsing, which helped her on her nightly forays.  She is known for fighting Springheel Jack as well as Dracula.  After Dracula kills one of her friends she decides to go solo.Tales of the Slayers (Novel), Vol. 2, "The House of the Vampire"

                              

  Unknown – Oklahoma Territory 1893

-A series of attacks claim 17 homesteaders; attacks stop when a quiet, young blacksmith woman arrived in town - "Welocome to the Hellmouth"

                               

Xin Rong – China 1899

-Slayer killed by William the Bloody during the Boxer Rebellion.  Her last words were “Tell my Mother, I’m sorry”. - "Fool for Love"

20th Century                

Arabella Gish – Brooklyn 1912

-The Brooklyn Boarding House murders claim 23 lives, they stop when the student nurse seeks lodging in Room number 6. www.buffy.com

Ardita O’Reilly – NYC 1922

-She was a flapper who starred in a speakeasy/cabaret.  A very mysterious and solitary figure.Tales of the Slayers (Novel), Vol. 2, "The War Between The States"

                               

Britta Kessler – Munich, Germany 1923

She was invited to a film premiere in Munich.  She discovers that the film was actually recorded vampire attacks and that all the actors and producers were undead as well.  Britta saved the other guests but was savagely murdered.- Tales of the Slayer Volume 1

                               

Unknown – Chicago 1927

-41 bodies are found near Union station.  They stop when a mysterious young woman arrives. www.buffy.com               

Rachel O'Connor-New York 1937

Unorthodox methods to lure and kill vampires, gets in a time paradox with Buffy summers.Tales of the Slayers (Comic), "Broken Bottle of Djinn"

                               

Unknown Korean Slayer – Korea 1930s

-Assisted a Demon Hunter named Sid in tracking down The Brotherhood of Seven.- "The Puppet Show"

                              

Rachel O’Connor – NYC 1937

-Recruited by the OSS to stop a Nazi agent from delivering an evil Djinn to his superiors in Germany.- Tales of the Slayers (Comic), "Broken Bottle of Djinn"

                               

Anni Sonnenblume – Germany 1938

-A Hitler Youth who sees the error of her ways and decides to fight the Nazis as well as Vampires and demons.Tales of the Slayer Volume 1

                               

Sophie Carstersen – Denmark 1940

-Denmark’s Slayer.  She preferred the use of a sword.  She was killed due to the machinations of the demon Skrymir.Pretty Maids All in a Row

                              

 Isabel Cortez

-Called right after Sophie died.  Killed by the demon Skrymir. Pretty Maids All in a Row

                               

Eleanor Boudreau               

-Called right after Isabel.  Survived the battle with Skrymir but it’s unknown what happened next.Pretty Maids All in a Row

                             

Elizabeth Winters – Chicago 1943

-A Private Investigator who inherited her husband’s investigations business when he passed on.-Tales of the Slayers (Novel), Vol. 2, "Stakeout On Rush Street"

                               

Asha Sayre – Florida 1956

-A young African-American girl who had to contend with racist Vampire White Supremacists.  Died in an explosion while saving a church from their attack.- Tales of the Slayers (Novel), Vol. 1, "And White Splits the Night"

                               

Nikki Wood – NYC 1977

-Slayer who lived in New York. She bore a son that she named Robin.  When Nikki was killed on the subway by Spike, her Watcher raised her son. - "Fool for Love", "First Date", "Lies My Parents Told Me"

Star - Scotland - 1984

-a rock groupie who als had to realize the merits of being the slayer.Tales of the Slayers (Comic), "Rock Star"

                            

India Cohen – 1996

-India was called in 1993.  She had lived in Japan, Spain, and San Diego. Killed by The Wanderer of Water cutting her up.- "The Book Of Fours"

                              

Buffy Summers - Los Angeles; Sunnydale California.

-Buffy has conflicting date of calling as the Movie states she was called in 1992, but the Television show states she was called late 1996.  There are volumes written on this slayer and can be easily obtained this report cannot recap all her achievements in the Seven plus years she has been active. - Television Series; The Movie

                               

Kendra - Jamaica

- Kendra was taken as a child to train as a Slayer with her Watcher Mr. Zabuto.  She came to the Untied States soon after being called to aid in cobat against  a major source of darkness. Drusilla killed Kendra in 1998. - "What's my Line Parts 1 & 2", Becoming Part 1

                              

Faith - Massachusetts

-Faith was activated when Kendra was slain.  She had a very rocky childhood and her teenage years weren’t much better.  The vampire lord Kakistos killed her first Watcher.  She then fled to Sunnydale to team up with Buffy Summers.   - First seen in "Faith, Hope, & Trick"

21st Century                 Scythe-activated Slayers

                               

-Kennedy

-As a potential Slayer, her Watcher was killed by a Harbringer of the First.  Rupert Giles brought her to Sunnydale.  - "Chosen"

                     

-Rona

-Pushy African-American girl who took an immediate dislike to Buffy Summers.  Knows nothing of her destiny. - ""Chosen"

                              

  -Vi

-Very shy until called as a Slayer, when she kept her cool and killed the most Turok-Han during the battle for the closing of the Sunnydale Hellmouth.  - "Chosen"

-Amanda

-The only potential from Sunnydale.  She took to her calling and fell while fighting valiantly. - "Chosen"

                               

-Chao-Ahn

-Cantonese potential rescued by Rupert Giles.  Misunderstood because she cannot speak English. Killed in fight against The First.- "Chosen"

                                                               

-Shannon

-Potential who hitchhiked to Sunnydale.  Picked up by a fallen preacher named Caleb.  Despite him attacking her viscously, she survived and was called to fight in the final battle.  - "Chosen"

-Dana

-A deranged vampire Slayer is convinced that Spike is the man who kidnapped and tortured her when she was a child. She is returned to the Watcher's Council after being retrieved by Andrew. Angel the Television Series "Damage"

 

Not in sequence are the Indian Princess and Magyar peasant girl mentioned in the Movie as I do not even have general dates for them.
